Why are Robotic Horses being developed?

Why-are-robotic-horses-being-developed

There has been a special connection between humans and horses for years. Horses seem to be very faithful to their masters and even have saved their lives many times.

I personally love horse riding, and it has been my dream from childhood to own a horse.

Nowadays, Robotics and artificial intelligence have transformed our way of living. The experience with horses has also evolved with this technology.

Robotic horses have been developed and are used instead of real horses in many fields.

I was curious to know how these technological gadgets fit into the natural environment. Let’s see what I have discovered.

Applications of Robotic Horses

Applications of Robotic Horses

Horses are used in many industries. The primary two that everyone knows are farming and racing. But still, many more industries are using robotic horses, and we need to know about them.

Robotic Horses In the Entertainment Industry

There have been a lot of racing competitions among horses around the world. People love to see these events and come from every corner of the earth to enjoy the tournaments. They even bet on the horses and take the game to the next level.

The horses used in these games are trained for years; losing any of them is more than just grief. Many of the horses get injured, too.

To ensure the safety of real horses, the robotic horse has been introduced in racing games

In the Japan Cup of 2019, a robotic horse was introduced. Although it didn’t participate in actual racing, it attracted a large audience’s attention. It was so impressive that it cost much more than Group 1 race winners.

But before the invention of a robotic horse, a robotic jockey was developed. The first robotic jockey was introduced in 2003 in Qatar. Later on, in 2018, a more advanced and realistic jockey was introduced.

Use In the Medical Industry

I didn’t believe that a robotic horse could help children with cerebral palsy maintain a smooth posture.

Cerebral Palsy affects one person’s ability to maintain a balance. These people can’t properly control their feet, walk, sit, and stand. This disease can develop before birth and, in some cases, after the early years of birth.

One of the best solutions introduced to this disease is hippotherapy. In hippotherapy, a horseback riding technique is used to help young ones to maintain balance. If they fail to develop independent sitting at an early age, they can’t be able to walk and stand for their entire life.

So far, the robotic horse has made an incredible improvement in therapy; young ones love to have such treatments and often come back.

Robotic Horses In the Agricultural Industry

The agricultural industry is also benefiting from this marvellous invention. The robotic horses are all-in-one farming solutions for aged and busy farmers. It is also a good idea to attract young blood toward farming. As the population increases with every year passing, the need for food is also growing.

The robotic horse is capable of multiple tasks. They can plough and harvest in fields automatically. The robotic horse can work in climates difficult for humans and real horses, such as rainy and hot summer days.

One robotic horse can plant seeds, too. It can care for the field from wild birds and animals when the plants are growing. It can also fertilize the crops at specific times. The farmer can schedule them to do fertilization

The productivity and yield have been increased due to this outstanding invention.

Military Operations

The main advantage of the robotic horse is in the military field. Many other robotic projects are also being developed for military purposes. One of the best military inventions is the Robotic horse ARAT

ARAT stands for Advanced Robotic Agile Technologies. These robots are usually versatile and designed to do multiple tasks such as rescue missions and disaster response.

They have advanced sensors, mobility capabilities, and manipulator arms to navigate challenging terrains and perform complex tasks.

“We are developing software for robots to control their speed and momentum. The software helps [ARAT] to interpret data it receives through its sensors.”

Akın

After having great success with ARAT robots, Developers have started working on ARAT 4.1, which will be more updated and advanced than its older version.

Challenges for Robotic Horses

Although robotic horses have added something good to our lives, they still have some harmful effects

If I talk about horse racing in which robotic horses are used, it may reduce the charm and excitement of the game. The smell of horses, their masters worried about them and motivating them before the race, may not be seen anymore. It may end these types of Traditional games so badly.

Similarly, for many children, getting these robotic horse therapies is impossible due to high costs. Moreover, these types of technologies are not available in villages.

The use of robotic horses in farming is good, but it costs more fuel than a large one. It can be reduced if Hydrogen fuel can be used.

Future of Robotic Horses

There is no way back home. The AI is getting better and better. Once a thing is developed, it will indeed become more powerful in the future. Robotic Horses will be more autonomous in the future. One robotic horse will be able to be used in multiple fields.

Conclusion

So here, we have explored all the advanced uses of robotic horses. Overall, the robotic horse is beneficial and practical in industrial life. Productivity can be increased to a great extent.

Another important factor of using too much AI is that it may result in unemployment among middle-class people. They need to become more familiar with these types of technologies. The only way for them is to learn new technologies and adopt them.

AI is the future now; we can’t just sit and see people developing new things. We have to do our role and think about these things for better survival

Frequently Asked Questions on Robotic Horse

Robotic horses provide therapeutic benefits for individuals with physical or cognitive disabilities, aiding in balance, coordination, muscle strengthening, and emotional support through simulated riding experiences.

Yes, robotic horses are used for training equestrians, offering a controlled environment for beginners to learn riding skills, practice techniques, and build confidence before transitioning to real horses.

Yes, robotic horses eliminate the environmental impact associated with traditional horse keeping practices, such as land use, water consumption, waste management, and greenhouse gas emissions, making them a sustainable alternative for certain applications.
